Where Does Our Surplus Go?

One nice thing about working at HVA is you are working for your organization and for yourself.  HVA is a free-standing nonprofit organization.  We are not owned by stockholders and we are not owned by a hospital.  Our governing Board of Trustees is made up of volunteer, community leaders.

If you work particularly hard on a busy day, the proceeds of your hard work are put back into the organization to improve your wages, benefits, vehicles and equipment and to improve services to the community.

If you work hard for a company owned by stockholders or private owners, the proceeds of your work go to those stockholders or owners.  If you work hard for a nonprofit company that is owned by a hospital, the proceeds of your work go to the parent hospital.

But at HVA, the proceeds of your hard work are plowed back into the organization - to no one else.  And these funds are used to purchase better equipment and to provide you with a better quality of work life.

And that's a great feeling, particularly after a tough day.
