Retirement

Company paid, 6% of base salary matches employee contribution of 2%, as long as you work 1,000 hours per year.  5 year vesting schedule.  403(b) plan is portable and is managed by Principal Financial Group

Career Development

Maybe our best benefit!  Up to 10% of your previous year's salary to go to college, a university or trade school. Covers tuition, lab fees, books.

Short Term Disability

Percentage of Income replacement for up to 90 days if you become sick or injured due to a non-work related situation.

Health Care Retirement Fund

We pay you to attend court to testify on behalf of HVA.  We also pay your salary if you are called for jury duty in your own community.

Jacket, 3 summer shirts, 3 winter shirts, 3 BDU pants, belt, provided and replaced when worn out.  Great looking, comfortable uniforms selected by our staff.

Meeting/Training Pay

We respect your time.  If you come in for a meeting or company mandated training, you will be paid.

Bereavement Pay

Malpractice Ins.

$12,000,000 coverage when you are working.  Perhaps more than any other EMS service in Michigan.

Long Term Care Ins.

After 5 years of service, HVA funds $1000 to provide for long term nursing care and then matches your contributions up to a limit.
