HVA is accredited by the national Commission on
Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS). Only 80 ambulance
services in the nation are nationally accredited and HVA applied and
received accreditation in 1993. Most ambulance services think that
they do a good job. But few can prove it.
By becoming accredited, HVA invited teams of national experts from around the country to review our operating policies and talk with our staff and our customers. That should be important to you when you consider which ambulance service you want to work for. HVA's paramedic education programs are also accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Of the 200 accredited paramedic programs in the United States, only two are located in Michigan (HVA and Lansing Community College). HVA was the first ambulance service-based education program to be accredited in the country (the remainder are hospital or college based). |
