FAQ - How many ambulances do we own?

HVA owns a total of 60 ambulances and life support units, most of which are licensed at the paramedic advanced life support level.  We generally use Type III modular ambulances for our paramedic units, and Type II vans for basic ambulances.  Our ambulances are typically replaced or remounted on a new chassis every 4-6 years, depending on where the unit is assigned, and the number of miles logged.  New ambulances cost approximately $80,000 each (without internal life support equipment).
