Striving To Be A Heart-Safe Community

Huron Valley Ambulance has made cardiac care a priority.  Our goal is to do our part to make the communities we serve "Heart Safe communities".

Being "Heart Safe" starts with prevention, including diet, exercise, and not smoking.  Programs to help members of the community with these important challenges are available through our community hospitals, and other organizations.

HVA's role in the community is to act when prevention fails and you have a cardiac event - when you begin suffering from chest pain, difficulty breathing, heart attack, or sudden death.  And be assured, we are well trained, well equipped and prepared to act immediately.

To learn more about HVA provides or promotes the following programs that promote our "Heart Safe" goal:
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Public Access Defibrillation (PAD)
  • Telephone medical advice - while we respond
  • Police and fire defibrillation - 1st response
  • Stabilization of your cardiac event - at home or work
  • 12-Lead electrocardiogram diagnostics
  • Activation of re-perfusion teams at the hospital
  • Mobile Intensive Care Units for special care transportation between hospitals
