Huron Valley
Ambulance promotes the deployment and use of Automated
Defibrillators throughout the community. Defibrillation, along
with CPR, is the only reliable means of reversing sudden death in
the pre-hospital setting.
Time
is critical is reversing sudden death. Applying a
defibrillator immediately following collapse, a person stands a 70%
chance of leaving the hospital alive with no brain deficit.
Delaying the application of a defibrillator reduces survivability.
Victims who wait for a defibrillator shock over 14 minutes stand
less than a 1% chance of leaving the hospital alive!
In
an effort to inform the community and promote defibrillator usage,
HVA maintains this defibrillator registry. The registry allows
you to see the location of defibrillators in your community, and
gives the public a |

way to add additional locations. There
is also a link provided to report the use of an AED in the public
setting.
