HVA recognizes 2012 Stars of Life
Five full-time employees at Huron Valley Ambulance were chosen as this
year's Stars of Life. They are: Paramedic Andy Savage; Grounds/Maintenance
Technician John Church; Paramedic Ben Forche; Recruitment Coordinator Justin
Giersdorf; and Administrative Assistant Cindy New.
Andy Savage, who has worked at HVA for 5 years, was also chosen to
represent HVA from April 29 to May 2 at the American Ambulance Association's
annual Stars of Life event in Washington, DC. The AAA Stars of Life program
honors the dedication of ambulance service professionals who represent
excellence in every area of the industry. He will spend a day on Capitol
Hill educating legislators about the important role of ambulance
professionals in pre-hospital care. Savage is both a senior paramedic and
Mobile Intensive Care medic. He and his family live in Westland.
Savage and the other Stars will be awarded Professional Achievement Awards at HVA's Annual EMS Recognition Awards on Thursday, May 24. The "Stars" were selected by HVA management from a pool of applicants who received "exceeds standards" performance appraisals in the past year.
